Hospice of the Valleys has been recognized as a five-star organization, placing it in the top hospices in the country, and the only 5 -Star hospice in Riverside County.

“This recognition means so much to us at Hospice of the Valleys.  It demonstrates that our compassionate patient-centered care, attention to detail and focus on quality improvement is recognized and valued by the families we serve,” Marta Sarver-Martinez RN, Hospice of the Valleys Administrator/Director of Nursing said.

The rating is scored through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Consumer Assessment of the Healthcare Providers and Systems.  The survey is given to the family members of the patients cared for, focusing on a variety of categories, including; communication with family, getting timely help, treating patients with respect, emotional and spiritual support, help for pain and symptoms, training family to care for the patient, rating of the hospice and willingness to recommend this hospice. Only 10% of hospices nationally have earned five stars. And only 195 hospices of the 2,026 hospices in the United States have been awarded the rating that gives them the five-star status.

HOSPICE OF THE VALLEYS AWARDED WINNER OF THE INLAND EMPIRE TOP WORKPLACES 2022- NINTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

Murrieta, California, February 04, 2023 – Hospice Of The Valleys has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2022 honor by Inland Empire Top Workplaces. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage LLC. The confidential survey uniquely measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization: including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

“Receiving an Inland Empire Top Workplace award for the 9th consecutive year is a tremendous honor and one that we are extremely proud of as it is verification of how we operate as an organization. At Hospice of the Valleys we measure winning by how our employees rate us. This award lets us know that we are doing things right and doing right by our employees,” said Paul Mathias, Hospice of the Valleys CFO.

Dr. Leslee Cochrane, Hospice of the Valleys, Executive Medical Director, congratulated the staff on this incredible honor: “You may be interested to know that Hospice of the Valleys is the only Hospice to receive a Top Workplace Award and the only small business to have received a Top Workplace Award for every year since the program began in 2014! When you consider the additional challenges we have faced as a frontline healthcare provider serving our community during a pandemic, I feel it is truly amazing that Hospice of the Valleys was ranked as the number two Top Workplace for 2022!”

“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That’s something to be proud of. In today’s market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That’s paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”

For the last 40 years, Hospice of the Valleys’ primary focus has been to provide compassionate hospice care to our terminally-ill patients and their families. We are also a committed community resource by providing free, public support groups to not only our patients’ families, but to the community at large.

Our care includes patient visits wherever our patients call home. This could be a private residence or medical facility. We also provide guidance and support to our patients’ families. We answer all the questions that arise at such a difficult and confusing time, we offer grief support and resources for children who may be affected by the patient’s imminent death.
